When we were in 4th grade Rick Gilchrist and I help tutor Billy in Math because he just wasn't getting it. To thank us Billy gave us each a Japanese coin. Rick and I both have these coins to this day.

I remember Billy in fourth grade as well. He was beginning to become quite ill, however, not quite ill enough to not go to school. Anyway, the subject came up about the glass being half full or half empty. Billy, always being the "brain" in the class, would successfully argue that it was continually both.

Billy and I became friends in 6th grade at Robert Gray. When we got to Cascade, I didn't see him. A year later, I saw his brother and found out that he had passed away. I have never forgotten his kindness to the new kid back in 6th grade. You are missed Billy.
