Comments:

Spent 7 years in the U.S. Marine Corps out of High school. I worked for Reynolds Metals Electrical Plant for 13 years until it was Closed in 1992 after being bought out by a Company from Europe.

When Reynolds was closed, I along with all the other employees was offered Retraining benefits. There were several options. After much prayer and searching by my wife Susan and I, we decided going back to school was my best option. So, after being out of school for 15 years, it was back to school for me. I enrolled @ Lower Columbia College in January of 1993 and Graduated in June of 1996 with my Nursing Degree.

The Lord has blessed our family greatly. After Graduating from College in 1996, I took a position in Portland, OR. with Providence Portland Medical Center. We were living in Kelso at the time and I commuted to Portland for a little over a year. In June of 1997 we sold our home in Kelso and moved to Battle Ground, WA where we built our Dream Home. I spent a total of Six years with Providence Portland Medical Center. Then in 2002, I accepted an offer with the Federal Government and went to work for the Veteran's Administration, working in Vancouver, WA. Moving back to WA was great in that I was much closer to our home in Battle Ground. My commute was cut in half. Not to mention, I was no longer paying the Oregon State Income Tax, (9% right off the top of your Gross income).

This year, 2008, Susan and I decided to sell our home in Battle Ground and move to Salmon Creek, a suburb of Vancouver, and move in to a smaller Condo. Now that our children are all on their own, we decided to down size and the move to the Condo has been great for us. I am still working for the Federal Government and hope to retire with a very nice Government Pension.
