Well, it has been a long time since I have seen and/or talked to most of you.
I went to college right out of high school, went on a Mormon mission, went back to college, then settled in Longview from 1984-94, where I married had three kids, and worked at Reynolds Metals.
When they laid a bunch of us off in 1993, my wife and I sold our house and the following year, moved to Salt Lake City, where I began school again, and graduated in 1997 with a degree in history. I research, write, publish and love it. I have published a few books and am writing one now on the racially motivated murder of Emmett Till which happened in Mississippi in 1955. I get to speak at colleges and high schools around the country on the case and my research, which is a very satisfying thing for me.
In 1995 my wife and I separated and divorced in 97. We are still close friends, try to do our best in raising our kids to be smart, thinking, questioning, open-minded, thoughtful, giving, volunteering people. I am proud of them all.
Wish I could have been at the reunion. I have missed them all. Will be at the next one for sure.
